Grading

What you need to know is that, the topography around the structure of the house you are building or one that you already have, must have the soil surrounding the perimeter graded so  it slopes away from the building. We want to keep the water outside of the structure, and we accomplish this with the combination of footing drains, gutters and downspouts, storm drains and the proper grading of the soil around the structure.

Recommendations
We recommend that you maintain the  sloped grading around your house and especially after any landscape work. Be certain that before you hire any contractor to do any escalating close to your house, that they restore the grade to it’s necessary slope. .Click on our link Get Information and Get a Professional for the knowledge you will need before you contract or contractors who know how to grade.

Gutters

We want  you to keep your structure dry, gutters will collect and convey rain water to downspouts and carry it at least three feet from the foundation. They work in conjunction with the footing drain and storm drains shedding the rain water away from the house or structure .

Recommendations
We recommend that if you do not have gutters and downspouts on your house, have them installed as you will relieve the footing drain from having to handle the deluge of rain water that is the result when rain running of the roof pours down at the foundation.
